Plan With Me is where Bullet Journalists
showcase their monthly set-up and theme.
I know you have guessed it right, just by mere looking at the title of this blog. Yes, I have decided to have Harry Potter as my theme for January. Been wanting to do this for so long. Just looking for that one special time when to actually put it on paper. Then, here comes January of 2018 and I really felt that the time to do this is finally here.
I have seen a lot of fellow bullet journalists, also Potterheads, who have gone pretty creative in doing their Harry Potter theme so I want mine to be just as one. After a lot of research and drafted designs, I have finally come up with a setup that would not only show my love of Harry Potter but also be effective of course in helping me more productive as this is the main purpose of bullet journaling. I wouldn’t want it to be as crazy as some has done though. I still want pretty neat lay-outs so please queue in the opening soundtrack and let’s roll.
I really love my January cover page! Drafted a lot of designs before I decided that this is the one. Snow globes amazes me so I have checked for inspiration which will have the Hogwarts castle in it. The book of the Deathly Hallows completed the page and it looks magical! I have used craft paper for the January header so it would also look a little vintage. Considered to use tea or coffee stain for the page at first, but decided not to since I don’t want it to look messy.
My monthly log is pretty much the same. I only added a time turner at the bottom and some “magical” smoke on the left side. I have also used Crayola Supertips in light brown for accent color.
If any of you guys are wondering, my Habit Tracker includes two columns. The first column is for the good habits that I want to keep and track like if I have reviewed our budget, if I have pooped (Yes. I track it. LOL) etc., Second column is my water and sleep tracker. Then, of course my Mood tracker. I initially wanted the hour glasses that contains those gems for house points, but I want to stick with the earthy colors for the vintage vibe so I chose the feather tracker and wrote Hermione’s famous line. Wingardium Laviosa!
Professor Severus Snape’s line, one of the many famous of his is on my Brain Dump page. “I can teach you how to bottle fame, brew glory, even put a stopper on death.” Like someone commented on a Facebook group when I posted a preview, I can hear him saying this line while I wrote it down. LOL! I decided for this one since I felt that it really fits the page. Apart from Dumbledore, he’s such a brilliant character. My Expenses tracker’s header includes the Gringotts front door signage. I really want to draw the entire bank with the dragon at the top, but then I wouldn’t have enough space for what needs to be listed so I’ve settled for this. It looks awesome though.
First week spread makes me want to ride a flying car. Who could’ve forget this epic scene? Definitely one of my favorites!
Apart from Hogwarts, my favorite place is on my second week spread. Diagon Alley! I wanted to draw the Quidditch pitch for this one, but Diagon Alley won my heart. It’s the only place where you’ll find everything anyway. Plus Hagrid and little Harry!
Third week spread is for my favorite charm. Included a line from the books which say, “And out of the end of his wand burst, not a shapeless cloud of mist, but a blinding, dazzling, silver animal.”. I have drawn this when I was having a bad day. Thinking that there were just Dementors lurking outside of our home for me not to feel good. It helped me feel better and Oh I also had chocolates! By the way, my Patronus is a Dolphin!
I’ve drawn this on Christmas day! Fourth week spread is for the most wonderful gift a Potterhead would die to received. The letter of acceptance to Hogwarts. I woke up that day checking the mail, but I guess Santa didn’t get the notice that it would be all I want for Christmas (Aside from bujo supplies of course!). Lucky Mr. H Potter, The Cupboard under the Stairs #4 Privet Drive, Little Whinging Surrey.
Got carried away so here’s my Fifth week! The front page of the Marauder’s Map. Included the line “I solemnly swear that I am up to no good.” for good measure. I really fancy having this so I could spy on Hogwarts. LOL! My favorite magical item, aside from my own wand which is of Laurel wood, unicorn hair, 11″ in length and pliant flexibilty. PS: Im a Hufflepuff!
If you noticed I’ve stuck on to the story book theme of my new bullet journal. You know, uniformity aka OCD. The pages were inspired by few of my favorite things from the Harry Potter series. Those that holds a special place in my heart, but I have stopped myself right there or else my entire 2018 will be of Harry Potter theme. Really enjoyed setting this up! I feel that I need to draw more of these. LOL!
I hope you enjoyed reading this blog as I’ve enjoyed it. Thank you guys for all the suggestions! Especially those from my Facebook groups. It helped me a lot. Until my next Plan With Me. Happy journaling!
